The Staff
So, who runs this site anyways?
The master mind behind the site is Jason Krieger, who basically runs just about every facet of the site from daily updates, getting the releases ready and so much more.
His wingman is James Acklin, who spearheads those kickass interviews you read each month, as well as helping with other tasks around the site.
All the backend coding and heavy PHP work was done by the gifted code gorilla, Matt Herron.
Another big time contributor is Jason Spector, who's landed some big named bands to appear in our releases and interviews
How about that long standing Phirebrush logo? That was designed by the very talented Ansy Telfort.

In Loving Memory

On November 8th, 2003 the world lost a beautiful woman. Phirebrush lost a great member. The community lost a great artist. I lost a beautiful friend, soul mate and fiance. Sarah "silvermind" Ruble left this world but not without leaving her art as a great reminder of who she was. Without Sarah, I probably wouldn't have created Phirebrush or turned it into the site it has become. I probably wouldn't have had these ideas and I probably wouldn't have had the ambition to pursue this profession. She inspired me greatly as well as many other artists. Sarah was a beautiful flower left on this earth and budded to pure beauty. For those of you who knew her, feel blessed, she was a gift. For those who didn't, she truly was a magnificent person. Thank you Sarah for the love you shared with me as well as the power and support you gave to pursue my dreams.
I will always love you Sarah,
- Jason Krieger (kriegs)

What is Phirebrush?
What is Phirebrush (pronounced: fire-brush)? Well, we in short, we are an online magazine (art group if you want) that displays user submissions in monthly issues. These submissions showcase visitor submitted artwork, photography, music, desktop wallpapers and writings of various styles. Unlike most art groups and e-zines, we let ANYONE submit, trying to showcase both the famous and beginners, giving everyone a voice and a chance in the spotlight. Along with each issue we release an interview as well. We try to spread the variety around, one month talking to an artist, another month with a photographer or maybe a band, spreading insight into their minds and styles. So, what is Phirebrush? Phirebrush is whatever you make it to be.
Phirebrush IS an online art magazine. Phirebrush IS NOT a resource for images nor is it a stock photography site. Images displayed in our monthly releases are by artists trying to showcase their works. Tying to show their works to people whom may have not seen them before. Please, DO NOT use any Phirebrush material or submissions on your own site, blog, myspace or artwork without the permission of the artist who created the images.
If you think you have found a submission that has been used, please email the author of that piece. If you think you have found Phirebrush themed imagery used elsewhere, please contact us and let us know. Thanks for your co-operation! The artists and the people who run Phirebrush really really appreciate it!

History of the site
The Beginnings
Phirebrush started off in October of 2001. It was a joint site between Kriegs and Pyrotechnish and was going to be a showcase site to display both of their works. It was a site to where each month, each person would take their turn and design the site, thus having a different design monthly. Well, things got a little tight for both members and the site began to slow down. They recruited Orpheum and Laggor in hopes to maybe revive the site and bring new material to it. But things were still slow.
Then comes March of 2002. Kriegs and Silvermind were on a train ride to Kansas City and a thought occurred to kriegs. A New Direction! Thus the current state of Phirebrush. A bi-monthly issue based site with their works and works of the viewers! Not only would it revive the site, but also try something new in the community. Current issue based sites are for members only and don't allow the up and comers to get noticed. Thus Phirebrush going in the new direction, it not only lets the members display some new work but also lets the new designers or designers not known in specific groups to get their work out and noticed. With this, they added on Burned, Kilik and Silvermind to help with the judging of material as well as addition of their works and services to Phirebrush.
The Present and Future?
Previous issues were designed with a new look every month. That began to get a tad tedious thus the start of a "static layout". All the old issues are still in their previous formats and can still be viewed on the Issues page. Also ditched was the bi-monthly releases. We gained acceptance and every two months just wasn't cutting it and we are now a monthly release. Currently we are a humble group, still holding on to our roots. Some members have come and gone but the site continues to run smoothly. More concepts and ideas for the site are being talked about and hopefully only good will come to us in the future. Plans of a possible printed version of the site have been our brains and who knows, with enough support, it could happen! But, without you the visitor, we wouldn't be here today. So, keep visiting, keep submitting and keep enjoying...
